Food & Drink Publications
Browse 12 food & drink outlets United Press can place your story with. This list covers food, drink and culinary titles across consumer and trade press. Get in touch to discuss which outlets fit your announcement.
These Food & Drink Publications are titles we can place announcements with directly. Food and drink is one of the more accessible sectors for earned coverage, because the trade press is active and consumer titles have regular product and restaurant sections to fill. What it also has is strict rules on what you may claim, particularly around health and nutrition, and those apply to editorial copy as much as to advertising.

How placement in Food & Drink Publications works
The trade press covers listings, distribution deals, factory investment, appointments and category data, and it covers them reliably because that is what its readers buy the magazine for. Consumer titles want a product with a story: a founder with a reason for making it, a genuine first, an unusual ingredient or process, or a restaurant with a chef worth writing about. Sending a consumer-style release to a trade desk, or the reverse, is the most common reason food announcements get no coverage at all.
Health and nutrition claims are tightly controlled in the UK and only authorised claims may be made. Descriptions such as low fat or high fibre have legal definitions, and terms like natural and clean are scrutinised. We keep copy to what is authorised and evidenced. The Food Standards Agency publishes the applicable guidance. See the rest of our work on our list of services.
Food & Drink Publications — frequently asked questions
Can we say our product is healthy?
Only within the authorised claims framework. Specific claims such as high in fibre have legal definitions and conditions attached, and general wellness claims are not permitted on their own. We write to what is authorised, which also tends to be more persuasive because it is specific.
What is the difference between trade and consumer food coverage?
Trade titles cover the business: listings, distribution, investment, appointments and category data. Consumer titles cover the product and the person behind it. They want different releases, and sending the wrong one is the usual reason for silence.
What gets a new food or drink product covered?
A genuine first, an unusual ingredient or process, a founder story with substance, a notable listing with a major retailer, or an award judged independently. A new flavour in an existing range rarely does on its own.
Do you work with restaurants as well as producers?
Yes — restaurants, bars, producers, distributors and food-tech businesses. Restaurant coverage leans more on the chef and the concept, and on timing around opening, than producer coverage does.
How quickly can food and drink coverage appear?
Guaranteed placements typically publish within seven to fourteen days of copy approval. Consumer magazine features run to their own lead times, which for print can be several months.
Which food and drink titles can you place with?
The list on this page shows the outlets currently in our guaranteed network. If a title you want is not shown, ask — we can often place outside the guaranteed list on a pitched basis, without the same certainty.
