Gaming company doesn’t pay out claims: the 30-second answer

If Reddit and Trustpilot say your gaming company doesn’t pay out, match every poster to your records first. Flag Trustpilot reviews from people with no account or who used a clone site, report rule-breaking Reddit posts to moderators, and use a solicitor for false statements that cause serious financial loss. Fix genuine withdrawal delays, reply once with your complaints steps, and publish a withdrawal proof page.

  • Match posters to accounts before you reply or report
  • Flag on Trustpilot fake and wrong-business reviews
  • Report on Reddit to moderators, then Reddit’s team
  • Remove the links that copy and spread the claim
  • Show the rules you follow on withdrawals and complaints
  • Publish proof and earn independent gaming coverage

Reality check

Most “doesn’t pay out” claims start in the withdrawal queue

Here is the uncomfortable truth for gaming brands: a player rarely writes “this gaming company doesn’t pay out” on the day they win. They write it on day five, after three chats with support and no clear answer. In the UK, withdrawal delays are the single biggest topic of complaints to the Gambling Commission, at around 2,000 a year.

Look at the same withdrawal from both sides:

WhenWhat is actually happeningWhat the player is thinking
Minute 0Player asks to withdraw“Done, it is on the way.”
Hours 1 to 24Pending or reversal window, fraud and risk checks“Why is it still pending?”
Day 1 to 3Extra checks if something does not match, such as a different card holder“They are making excuses.”
Day 2 to 5Processing by the bank or e-wallet“They have kept my winnings.”
Day 5+Player posts on Reddit and Trustpilot“This gaming company doesn’t pay out.”
Gaming company withdrawal queue: why players claim a gaming company doesn't pay out on Reddit and Trustpilot
The gap between the real process and what players believe is where the claims are born.

That gap is the real problem. Close it, and most new claims never get written. The rest of this guide shows how to remove the false ones already online and stop the next ones.

Myth versus fact

Five myths gaming companies believe about these claims

Myth: Trustpilot will remove it if we prove we are licensed

Fact: a licence does not make a review fake. Trustpilot removes reviews that break its guidelines, not ones that are simply negative.

Myth: ignoring Reddit makes it go away

Fact: an unanswered thread keeps ranking for your brand name, and AI tools quote it.

Myth: the player broke the terms, so we can say so in public

Fact: discussing a player’s account in public can break data protection rules. Explain the term, not the person.

Myth: more good reviews will drown it out fast

Fact: only genuine, unincentivised reviews count, and offering rewards for reviews breaks platform rules and UK law.

Myth: a legal threat will scare the poster off

Fact: a public threat often becomes the next screenshot. Legal steps work best quietly, through a solicitor.

Know your poster

Who is really saying your gaming company never cashes out players?

Before you reply or report, find out who wrote the post. Search your records for the username, email, story and dates. Each type of poster needs a different move.

Safer gambling first: if a post suggests the player is struggling with their gambling, follow your safer gambling process before anything else. That matters more than any review.

Your best defence

What UK Gambling Commission rules say about withdrawals

The strongest answer to a false “doesn’t pay out” claim is showing that your process follows the rules. In July 2024, the Gambling Commission set out its expectations on withdrawals. If your process matches them, you can say so with confidence.

What the regulator expects

  • Identity checks happen before a player deposits and plays, not when they withdraw
  • A withdrawal request should not trigger new questions that could have been asked earlier
  • Players can withdraw their deposit balance at any time
  • Winnings from a player’s own funds stay withdrawable, whatever they wagered
  • Players are told why more information is needed, unless the law stops you

What weakens your position

  • Asking for documents only after a big win
  • Terms saying you “reserve the right” to void winnings
  • Mixing bonus and deposit balances into one pot
  • Silence while checks run
  • Delays for checks that could have been done on sign-up

Wagering requirements can apply to bonus winnings, so a bonus-terms case is often a fair rule badly explained. And as with any regulated business, financial crime (AML) rules can limit what you tell a player, so agree a compliance-approved reply in advance.

Turn threads into cases

Move the argument from Reddit into your complaints process

Reddit is a terrible place to settle a withdrawal dispute and a great place to show you have a fair way to settle it. UK rules give you a clear structure to point to:

  1. Acknowledge fast:operators with 24-hour gambling should acknowledge a complaint within 24 hours.
  2. Resolve within eight weeks:the whole complaints process must end within eight weeks of receiving the complaint.
  3. Send a final letter:it must give your decision, say your process has ended and explain how to go to an independent ADR provider.
  4. Point to independent review:an approved alternative dispute resolution provider can then look at the case for free to the player.

When you reply in public with “here is how to raise this, here is the deadline, and here is the independent body if you disagree”, readers see a fair process, not a cover-up. Publish the same steps on a complaints page and link to it in every reply.

Platform playbook

How to remove false “doesn’t pay out” reviews from Trustpilot

Claim your business profile, then flag reviews that break Trustpilot’s guidelines. For gaming brands, these are the grounds that come up most:

Strong grounds to flag

  • Not a genuine experience: no account matches the reviewer
  • About a different business: the player used a clone or mirror site
  • Personal information: the review names your staff
  • Harmful or illegal: threats, hate or defamation
  • Promotional: a rival site pushing players elsewhere

Weak grounds (they will stay)

  • The player is angry about a genuine delay
  • The player misread a fair bonus term
  • You think the star rating is unfair
  • You simply disagree with their opinion

Most flagged reviews stay visible while Trustpilot checks them. If it needs documents, the reviewer gets three days to respond, and you are told the outcome by email. Meanwhile, reply publicly. For hands-on help, see Trustpilot review removal, and if a wave of 1-star reviews lands at once, read how to stop review bombing.

Platform playbook

How to remove false claims from Reddit gambling threads

Gambling subreddits are full of experienced players who can spot a brand defending itself badly. Your aim is fewer false claims, not a public win.

  1. Read the subreddit rules:many ban unproven accusations, naming staff or posting private chats.
  2. Report and message the moderators:send a short, polite Modmail with your evidence and the rule the post breaks.
  3. Escalate to Reddit:if a clear breach stays up, report it to Reddit’s own team.
  4. Use the defamation route:Reddit has a separate removal request process for false statements of fact.
  5. Refresh Google:once a thread is removed, ask Google to update the old result with its outdated content tool.

Never reply from staff personal accounts or new accounts. Pick one official, clearly named account and use it every time. More help: Reddit post removal and when a Reddit thread ranks for your brand name.

Scripts

Three replies that work, and one that never does

1. The delayed withdrawal

“Sorry for the wait, Alex. Your withdrawal is with our team and we have messaged you in the app with the next step. If it is not sorted within two working days, our complaints page explains how to escalate it, including independent review.”

2. The bonus terms

“We understand how frustrating this is. Winnings from bonus funds need the wagering shown in the offer before they can be withdrawn. Your deposit balance and any winnings from it are always withdrawable. Our support team can walk you through it.”

3. No account found

“We take every complaint seriously, but we cannot find an account that matches this review. If you played on a site using our name, please check our official domains on our website, as copycat sites exist. Please contact us so we can help.”

The reply that never works

“This player broke our terms and is lying.” It reveals account details, sounds defensive and gets screenshotted. Never accuse, never share account facts in public.

Legal route

When “doesn’t pay out” becomes defamation in the UK

If a post states as fact that your company keeps players’ winnings, and it is false, it may be defamatory. Under the Defamation Act 2013, a company that trades for profit must show serious financial loss, or that it is likely. The poster can defend it as true or as an honest opinion, and the time limit is generally one year from publication.

In practice, a solicitor’s formal notice to the platform is often enough, because websites lose their legal defence if they ignore a proper notice. If the poster is anonymous, a court can order the platform to reveal who they are. This is general information, not legal advice. We cover the legal steps in more detail in our guide for a fintech called a scam on Reddit and Trustpilot and in what to do when someone posts lies about your business.

Prevention

Build a withdrawal proof page that Google and AI tools can quote

When someone searches your brand with “withdrawal”, “legit” or “doesn’t pay out”, give them a page of your own to find. Keep it factual, simple and up to date.

  • Your licence: licence holder name and account number, with the regulator named
  • Your withdrawal steps: what happens after a player clicks withdraw, in order
  • Typical timings by method: only figures you can stand behind
  • Verification: what you check on sign-up and why
  • Bonus terms in plain English: the difference between deposit and bonus balances
  • Complaints and independent review: the steps, deadline and ADR provider
  • Official domains and apps: to protect players from clone sites

Seven things a withdrawal proof page should show.

Then add independent proof. Coverage in respected gaming and business titles carries more weight with Google and AI tools than anything you publish yourself. Our iGaming PR agency earns features in gaming media, and our PR for gaming companies covers studios and platforms too.

Hands off

Six moves that make the claims worse

Free spins for deleting reviews

Offering any reward for reviews breaks Trustpilot’s rules and, for fake or incentivised reviews, UK law. See the UK fake reviews law.

Sock-puppet accounts

Gambling communities spot them fast and ban brands for it.

Public account details

Sharing what a player did breaks privacy rules and looks like bullying.

Mass flagging

Flagging honest reviews weakens your genuine reports.

Silence

An unanswered claim reads as an admission.

Arguing about the rules

Explain once, link the page, then take it private.

Example scenario

What this looks like in practice: an example

Here is a typical situation, described as an example rather than a real client. A UK-licensed online bingo and slots brand finds a Reddit thread called “Avoid, they never cash out” and twelve 1-star Trustpilot reviews in a fortnight.

  1. Sort the posters:five reviewers have no account, three played on a copycat domain, two broke bonus terms and two had genuine delays.
  2. Flag:the five are flagged as not genuine and the three as about a different business.
  3. Fix:the two delayed withdrawals are completed and both players update their reviews.
  4. Explain:the bonus cases get a plain-English reply and a link to the new withdrawal proof page.
  5. Reddit:one official reply shares the complaints steps and official domains. The moderators remove a post that named a staff member.

A month later, most of the false reviews are gone, the thread reads very differently and the proof page ranks for the brand name. Results vary, but the order of the work stays the same.

FAQ

Gaming company doesn’t pay out claims: frequently asked questions

Reddit and Trustpilot say our gaming company doesn’t pay out. How do we remove the false claims?

Match each poster to your records first. Flag Trustpilot reviews from people with no account, or who played on a clone site, as not genuine or about a different business. Report Reddit posts that break subreddit or Reddit rules to the moderators, then to Reddit. For false statements of fact causing serious financial loss, a UK defamation solicitor can send a formal notice. Fix genuine delays and reply once with your complaints steps.

Why do players claim a gaming site never cashes them out?

Most claims come from slow withdrawals, checks that happen only after a win, misunderstood bonus wagering terms, closed accounts or copycat sites using the brand’s name. Withdrawal delays are the biggest single complaint topic for the UK Gambling Commission.

Can Trustpilot remove a review saying we keep players’ winnings?

Yes, if it breaks Trustpilot’s guidelines, for example if the reviewer never had an account, used a different site, named your staff or made harmful or defamatory claims. Honest complaints about a real delay stay up.

Can a Reddit post about us not cashing out be removed?

Yes, if it breaks the subreddit’s rules or Reddit’s content policy, or if it is defamatory. Report it, message the moderators with evidence, then escalate to Reddit or use its defamation removal request process.

Is it defamation to say a gaming company keeps players’ winnings?

It can be if it is stated as fact, it is false and it causes or is likely to cause serious financial loss under the Defamation Act 2013. Truth and honest opinion are defences, so speak to a UK defamation solicitor.

Can we ask for ID when a player withdraws?

The Gambling Commission expects identity checks before a player deposits and gambles. A withdrawal should not trigger new requests for information that could reasonably have been asked for earlier.

What if the player broke our bonus terms?

Wagering requirements can apply to bonus winnings, but a player’s deposit balance and winnings from their own funds must stay withdrawable. Explain the term in plain words in your reply, without sharing account details.

How long does a UK gambling operator have to resolve a complaint?

The whole complaints process must end within eight weeks of receiving the complaint. The final letter must give the decision and explain how to go to an independent ADR provider.

Should we reply to every negative review?

Reply to every genuine one, quickly and calmly, from an official account. For reviews from people with no account, reply once to say so politely and flag the review.

Can we offer free spins to players who update their reviews?

No. Offering rewards for reviews breaks Trustpilot’s rules, and fake or concealed incentivised reviews are banned in the UK since 6 April 2025.

What if a copycat site is using our brand?

List your official domains and apps on your website, report the copycat to your regulator and hosting providers, reply to affected posters with the official list, and flag Trustpilot reviews that are about a different business.

How do we find out who is behind anonymous false claims?

Platforms rarely reveal users without a court order. A UK court can grant a Norwich Pharmacal order requiring a platform to disclose who posted. Take legal advice first.

How do we stop AI answers saying we do not cash out players?

AI tools often summarise Reddit, Trustpilot and complaint sites. Remove what is false, resolve what is real, publish a withdrawal proof page and earn independent gaming and business coverage so they have better sources.

Does a Gambling Commission licence stop these claims?

No, but it is strong proof. Show your licence details, withdrawal steps and complaints route on your website and link to them in replies.

Can you remove links as well as reviews?

Yes. We can remove links too, including copycat sites using your brand, pages that copy a removed review or thread, posts that expose staff and false statements that cause serious harm. We take on removal where a link breaks the platform’s rules or the law, with a full refund if a link we take on is not removed.

Can United Press remove false claims about our gaming company?

We check which reviews, posts and links break the platform’s rules and take on removal where they do: Guaranteed Review Removal in Just 48 Hrs, with a full refund if a review or link we take on is not removed. For genuine complaints, we help you outrank them with independent gaming coverage.

Your players should find the truth first.

One angry thread should not tell every new player what your brand is. Remove what is false, fix what is slow, and give Google better proof to show.
