Every PR quote at United Press is built around one thing: the publications you actually want to appear in. There is no standard rate card, because a founder who wants one trade feature and a brand that wants a six-month national campaign are not buying the same thing. This page explains, in plain terms, what you are paying for and what moves the price up or down.
What you are actually paying for
You are paying for a guaranteed placement in a named publication. Not a pitch. Not a press release blasted to a list. A published article, in the outlet agreed in writing before you pay, or you get your money back.
- Strategy and angle development with a senior strategist
- Writing the piece to the publication’s editorial standard
- Editor relationships and the placement itself
- A live link you can verify before the work is signed off
- A written guarantee: publication or full refund
The five things that decide your price
1. The publication tier
A national broadsheet costs more than a respected trade title, and a trade title costs more than a regional paper. The bigger the audience and the harder the editorial gate, the higher the cost.
2. How many placements you want
A single feature is priced on its own. A campaign of six or twelve placements is priced as a programme, and the per-placement cost comes down.
3. Your sector
Some sectors are harder to place. Crypto, gambling, CBD and financial services face tighter editorial rules, so they take more work and cost more. Consumer, hospitality and lifestyle brands are usually easier.
4. How fast you need it
Our standard window is 60 to 90 days. If you need coverage sooner, for a funding announcement, a launch date or a visa deadline, that is a rush fee, because it changes how we work the desk.
5. Whether it is a launch or a crisis
Crisis work is priced differently from growth PR. It is faster, more senior and usually runs alongside reputation and search work. If something is live and damaging, tell us on the first call and we will quote it separately.
How to get your price
- Tell us your target. Name the publication, or describe the outcome you want and we will suggest the right titles.
- We confirm availability. We check the outlet will take the story and what the realistic timeline is.
- You get a fixed written quote. One number, the named publication, the deadline and the refund terms. Nothing moves until you approve it.
There are no retainers unless you ask for one, and no lock-in contracts. You approve each placement before it runs.
Common questions
Why is there no price list on this page?
Because a fixed list would be misleading. The same publication can cost two different clients two different amounts depending on the story, the sector and the deadline. We would rather give you one accurate number than a range you cannot rely on.
Do I pay before or after publication?
Terms are agreed in the written quote. The guarantee is the point: if the agreed publication does not run the piece, you are refunded in full.
Is there a minimum spend?
We take single placements as well as full programmes. Tell us the budget you have and we will tell you honestly what it will reach.
What if my budget is small?
We will say so plainly rather than take the work and underdeliver. In most cases there is a smaller trade or regional title that does a real job for a first placement.
