Best Way to Remove Google Reviews in the UAEYou built your business one happy customer at a time. One unfair review should not get to undo that.

A one-star review from someone who never visited. A competitor’s attack the week you opened in Business Bay. A “refund or I post” message that became a public review. United Press helps UAE businesses, and businesses from every country with a UAE branch, remove Google reviews that break Google’s policies, answer the ones that stay, and rebuild a rating that reflects the truth.

✓We can remove any review

  • Policy-based reports only
  • No fake reviews, ever
  • UAE law aware
  • English and Arabic reviews
★تقييمThe review you cannot stop reading

It is 11pm. The restaurant is closed. And you are reading that one-star review for the twentieth time.

Every owner in the UAE knows the feeling. You check your phone after a long service and there it is: a single star, a few angry lines, sometimes from a name you have never seen in your bookings. Your rating drops from 4.8 to 4.6. You wonder how many people read it before they chose somewhere else.

In a market as competitive as Dubai or Abu Dhabi, where a customer in JLT can pick from thirty cafes within walking distance, your Google rating is often the only thing standing between you and the next booking. Clinics, salons, car rental firms, real estate agents, schools and hotels all feel it. So do the founders and managers whose names appear in the reviews.

The good news is that Google does remove reviews that break its rules, and more of them break the rules than most owners realise. The honest news is that Google does not remove genuine opinions just because they are harsh, and anyone who tells you otherwise is either guessing or breaking the rules themselves.

This guide shows you exactly which UAE reviews can be removed, how to report them yourself, what to do when Google says no, how UAE law affects both you and the reviewer, and how United Press can take the whole problem off your desk.

Can you remove Google reviews in the UAE?

Yes, when the review breaks Google’s content policies. Reviews that are fake, written by competitors or former staff, abusive, off-topic, spam, or that reveal personal information can be reported through your Business Profile or Google’s Reviews Management Tool. Google usually decides within several days and allows one appeal. Genuine negative reviews normally stay, so the right strategy combines removal with strong replies and a steady flow of real reviews.

Often removable

  • Never a customer
  • Competitor or ex-employee
  • Threats, insults, hate
  • Phone numbers or names
  • Wrong business or location
  • Review extortion

Usually stays

  • Real visit, bad experience
  • Harsh but honest opinion
  • Complaint about service levels
  • Old but accurate review
  • Reviews you simply dislike

    ★★سياسةGoogle’s rulebook in plain English

Top 22 reasons Google removes a review, grouped into four families

Google’s Maps user-contributed content policy lists more than twenty types of prohibited and restricted content. Most owners only ever hear about “spam”. Here is the full list, grouped the way we use it when building a case, with the ones we see most often in the UAE highlighted.

    Not a real experience

The review is not an honest account of a genuine visit.

    • Fake engagementContent not based on a real experience, including reviews bought, swapped or written to order.
    • Rating manipulationReviews written with incentives or in unusual patterns to push a rating up or down.
    • ImpersonationPosting as another person, business or organisation.
    • MisrepresentationFalse or misleading accounts of what a business offers.
    • Repetitive contentThe same text posted repeatedly or across several accounts.

    Harmful to people

The review attacks, exposes or endangers someone.

    • HarassmentThreats, bullying or targeting of individuals, including staff and owners.
    • Hate speechAttacks on people for their race, nationality, religion, gender, disability or similar.
    • Offensive contentDeliberately provocative content meant to demean.
    • Personal informationPhone numbers, addresses, private photos or other identifying details shared without consent.
    • Obscenity and profanitySwearing and crude language used to offend.
    • Violence and goreGraphic descriptions or images of injury.

    In the wrong place

The content does not belong on your profile at all.

    • Off-topicGeneral rants, politics or commentary unrelated to the experience at your location.
    • Advertising and solicitationPromotions for other businesses, links, phone numbers or requests for contact.
    • Unclear contentGibberish, random characters or text that makes no sense.
    • DefacementVandalism of your business information or photos.
    • MisinformationFalse claims presented as news, health or public information.

    Legal and safety limits

Content Google restricts regardless of the experience.

    • Sexually explicit and adult contentExplicit or sexualised text or images.
    • Restricted contentPromotion of regulated goods such as alcohol, tobacco, gambling, weapons or medicines.
    • Dangerous contentMaterial that could facilitate serious harm.
    • Child safetyAny content that exploits or endangers minors.
    • Terrorist contentContent that promotes or supports terrorism.
    • Illegal contentMaterial that breaks the law, which Google also handles through legal requests.

One more category matters a great deal in the UAE: conflict of interest. Google does not allow reviews written by owners about their own business, by competitors about rivals, or by current or former employees. In dense business districts such as JLT, Business Bay, Al Barsha and Al Reem Island, where competitors sit on the same street, this is often the strongest ground we find.

    How Google actually decides

Google combines automated systems with human review. Its automated systems scan reviews as they are posted and remove many policy-breaking ones before they appear. Reports from businesses and users send a review for a closer look, where it is judged against the written policies rather than the owner’s feelings about it. That is why the wording of a report matters: the reviewer needs to see quickly which rule has been broken and why.

    What Google will not judge

Google does not act as a referee in factual disputes between a business and a customer. If a guest says the food was cold and you know it was not, Google will generally not decide who is right. In those cases, your reply, your records and the weight of your other reviews do the work. Knowing this saves weeks of frustration and lets you focus your reports where they can succeed.

    ★★★★خطواتDo it yourself

The best way to report a Google review in the UAE, step by step

You can report any review on your own Business Profile for free. Follow these six steps in order. Most rejected reports fail at step two, because the reason chosen does not match the evidence.

    1. 1Minute 0

Capture the review before anything changes

Take a dated screenshot of the review, the reviewer’s profile and their other reviews. Reviewers sometimes edit or delete content once they see a reply, and you may need the original later.

    2. 2Minutes 5–20

Match the review to one specific policy

Choose the single Google policy the review breaks most clearly, such as conflict of interest, harassment or off-topic. Check your booking system, CRM or till records so you know exactly what you can prove.

    3. 3Day 1

Report it from your Business Profile

Open your Business Profile, choose Read reviews, click the report option beside the review and select the reason that matches your evidence. Only report reviews you genuinely believe break policy.

    4. 4Days 1–7

Track it in the Reviews Management Tool

Google’s Reviews Management Tool shows each report as decision pending, no policy violation found, or escalated. Google says evaluation typically takes several days.

    5. 5After a no

      Use your one appeal carefully

If Google finds no violation, you can appeal once through the same tool. Use the appeal to explain clearly why the review breaks the policy, rather than repeating the first report.

    6. 6Within 3 months

Escalate if it is extortion or unlawful

Report review extortion through Google’s dedicated form. If a review may be defamatory under UAE law, speak to a UAE-licensed lawyer promptly, as defamation complaints generally need to be filed within three months.

Business owner and adviser reviewing evidence for a Google review appeal
    ★دليلWhen Google says no

A rejection is not the end. It usually means the evidence was missing.

Google’s reviewers look at each report quickly. They cannot see your booking system, your CCTV or your WhatsApp messages. If the review looks like a plausible customer complaint and the report simply says “fake”, it will usually stay.

Strong reports connect a clear policy to a visible pattern. These are the signals that tend to make the difference in UAE cases.

SignalWhat it can showHow to present it
No matching booking or transactionThe reviewer was probably never a customer.State the date range you checked and which systems you searched, without sharing any customer data publicly.
Reviewer’s other reviewsA pattern of five-star reviews for one competitor and one-star reviews for its rivals.List the profile’s other reviews with dates and locations.
TimingSeveral one-star reviews within hours, often after a viral post or a dispute.Show the dates and times side by side, and any trigger event.
WordingIdentical or near-identical phrases across accounts.Quote the matching sentences together.
Employment recordsThe reviewer is a current or former employee.Confirm the connection in general terms only, never by publishing their details.
Messages before the reviewA demand for a refund, free service or favour in exchange for not posting.Keep screenshots of every message and report through Google’s extortion form.
Location detailsThe review describes a different branch, mall or business with a similar name.Point out the details that do not match your location, such as the menu, the staff or the address.
    ★★★مثالA worked example

From a one-star shock to a resolved profile

To show how the process fits together, here is an illustrative example based on the kind of situation UAE businesses bring to us. The business and details are invented, but every step reflects how Google’s tools and policies actually work.

    Monday: the shock

A family-run bakery in Al Barsha wakes up to four one-star reviews posted overnight. None of the names match an order. Two of the reviews use almost the same sentence, and one recommends a new bakery two streets away.

    Monday afternoon: the evidence

The owner screenshots every review and every reviewer profile. The till and delivery records show no orders under those names. Two of the profiles have left five-star reviews for the new bakery in the same week.

    Tuesday: the reports

Instead of choosing “spam” for all four, each review is reported under the policy it breaks most clearly: conflict of interest for the two linked to the competitor, repetitive content for the near-identical pair and fake engagement for the one with no matching order.

    The replies

While Google reviews the reports, the owner posts one short, calm reply under each review, saying the bakery cannot find a matching order and inviting the reviewer to get in touch. No accusations, no names, no mention of the competitor.

    The following week

Google’s decisions arrive through the Reviews Management Tool. Where a report is declined, the single appeal sets out the pattern more clearly, with dates and the matching wording side by side. At the same time, the bakery starts asking every customer for a review with a QR code at the counter, and new genuine reviews begin to appear.

The lesson: precise policies, visible patterns and calm replies do more than any number of angry reports. Outcomes always depend on Google’s decision, which is why we never promise one.

Before you press report: a ten-point check

    1. I have a dated screenshot of the review and the reviewer’s profile.
    2. I have read the review in full, translated if it is not in English.
    3. I have checked bookings, sales and enquiries for this person.
    4. I have looked at the reviewer’s other reviews for patterns.
    5. I have compared the timing with other recent negative reviews.
    6. I have chosen the one policy the review breaks most clearly.
    7. I have not replied in anger, named the reviewer or threatened them.
    8. I have saved any messages that came before the review.
    9. I have recorded the date I first saw it, in case a lawyer needs it.
    10. I know how I will reply if the review stays.

    How to word an appeal

Keep it factual and short. Name the policy, then list the evidence that shows the breach: for example, “This review breaks the conflict of interest policy. The reviewer has posted five-star reviews for a competing business on the same street during the same week, and our records show no visit or order under this name.” Avoid emotional language and never include customers’ personal data.

★★لماذاWhy it matters so much here

In the UAE, your Google profile is often your first impression

Residents and visitors in the UAE rely heavily on their phones to decide where to eat, which clinic to visit and which agent to call. DataReportal’s Digital 2026 report puts internet use at 99 percent of the population, so almost every customer can read your reviews before they meet you.

    A

    Tourists decide in minutes

Millions of visitors arrive with no local recommendations. They search, compare ratings and choose, often while standing outside.

    B

    New residents start from zero

People moving to Dubai or Abu Dhabi have no network yet. Reviews stand in for the friend who would normally tell them where to go.

    C

    Maps drives the next visit

Google says review count and score are part of how prominent a business is in local results, so reviews affect whether you are found as well as whether you are chosen.

    D

AI answers repeat what reviews say

When someone asks an AI assistant for the best clinic or cafe nearby, reviews are among the signals those answers can draw on.

★★أنماطPatterns we see in the Emirates

Top eight Google review problems in the UAE

The UAE’s mix of dense business districts, huge visitor numbers, fast-moving social media and dozens of languages creates review problems you rarely see elsewhere. Recognising the pattern is the first step to the right fix.

    1

    Neighbour attacks

A new competitor opens nearby and one-star reviews appear from profiles that praise the newcomer.

Best route: conflict-of-interest reports with the pattern documented.

    2

    The viral pile-on

A TikTok or Instagram clip goes viral and people who never visited leave reviews to join in.

Best route: report reviews not based on a real experience, and handle the video itself. See TikTok post removal.

    3

    “Refund or I post”

A customer threatens a bad review unless they receive a refund, upgrade or free service.

Best route: keep every message, report through Google’s extortion form and do not negotiate in public.

    4

    Former staff

An employee leaves after a contract or visa dispute and reviews the business as if they were a customer.

Best route: conflict-of-interest report, plus attention to employer reviews on Glassdoor.

    5

    Wrong branch, wrong business

Brands with branches in Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates and Yas Mall receive reviews meant for another location, or for a business with a similar name.

Best route: off-topic or wrong-place reports with location details.

    6

    Things you cannot control

Visitors review a hotel or tour for the summer heat, traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road or a visa delay.

Best route: off-topic report where the review is not about your service, and a courteous reply where it partly is.

    7

    Reviews in many languages

Reviews arrive in Arabic, Russian, Hindi, Urdu, Chinese and more, and abusive content slips through unnoticed.

Best route: translate every negative review before deciding whether it breaks policy.

    8

    Named staff

A review names a receptionist, doctor or driver and accuses them personally.

Best route: harassment or personal information reports, and care for the staff member involved.

    ★★★قانونThe legal lane

UAE law protects your reputation, and limits how you defend it

The UAE treats online defamation seriously. Federal Decree-Law No. 34 of 2021 on combatting rumours and cybercrimes, including Article 43, makes insulting someone or damaging their reputation through an information network an offence, with penalties that can include detention and fines of AED 250,000 to AED 500,000. The UAE Penal Code also covers defamation and insult.

That gives businesses a legal route for reviews that are genuinely defamatory. It also means your own replies must be careful. Accusing a reviewer of a crime in public, revealing who they are or threatening them can create a new legal problem for you.

For full background, read our guide to reputation management in the UAE. This page is general information, not legal advice, and we always recommend speaking to a UAE-licensed lawyer before any legal step.

    Police and prosecution

Complaints can be filed through the Dubai Police eCrime service, Abu Dhabi Police’s Aman service, the Ministry of Interior’s services or the Public Prosecution.

    The three-month window

Defamation complaints generally need to be filed within three months of learning of the offence and who committed it. Record the date you first saw the review.

    Google’s legal channel

Separately from its content policies, Google accepts legal removal requests, including requests supported by court orders. A lawyer can advise whether that route suits your case.

    ★★★★★ردReply templates

The best replies when a Google review stays up

Future customers read your reply as closely as the review. A calm, specific answer can turn a one-star review into proof that you care. Choose the situation closest to yours. Adapt the words, keep it short, and never share a customer’s details.

Thank you for telling us about your visit, and we are sorry the evening did not meet the standard you expected. That is not the experience we want for anyone. Our manager would like to understand what happened and put it right, so please contact us directly on our listed number or email.

Why it works: it accepts the feeling without arguing the facts in public, shows readers you act on feedback and moves the conversation offline.

Thank you for your feedback. We take every review seriously, but we have not been able to find a visit or booking that matches this description. If you did visit us, please contact our team directly so we can look into it properly.

Why it works: it signals to readers that the review may not be genuine without accusing anyone, which keeps you on the right side of both Google’s rules and UAE law.

Thank you for your review. The details you describe do not match our location, menu or team, and we believe this may relate to a different business with a similar name. If we are mistaken, please get in touch and we will be glad to help.

Why it works: it corrects the record for future readers and supports a wrong-place report to Google.

We are sorry to see this review. We aim to resolve every concern fairly and in line with our published policies. Our team has been in touch privately and remains available to help.

Why it works: it does not repeat the demand or escalate the dispute in public, while your extortion report and saved messages do the real work.

Reply in Arabic when the review is in Arabic, using the same calm structure: thank the reviewer, acknowledge the concern and invite them to contact you directly. If no one on your team writes Arabic confidently, have the reply checked by a native speaker before posting.

Why it works: replying in the reviewer’s language shows respect, and Arabic-speaking readers notice when a business only answers in English.

    ★★★★ثقةOutweigh what stays

The best way to shrink a bad review is to surround it with real ones

Even after every valid removal, some negative reviews will stay. The strongest protection is a steady stream of genuine, recent reviews and a wider search presence that shows people who you really are.

    1. Ask every customer, not just the happy ones. Google does not allow businesses to discourage negative reviews or ask only satisfied customers, so build the request into every visit.

    2. Make it easy. Use your review link on receipts, QR codes at the counter, follow-up emails and WhatsApp messages after a visit.

    3. Never offer incentives. Discounts, gifts or free services in exchange for reviews break Google’s policy and can trigger removals of real reviews too.

    4. Reply to reviews regularly. Recent replies show readers, and Google, that the business is active and listening.

    5. Build authority beyond Google Maps. Media features in respected UAE publications rank for your brand name and give AI assistants accurate, positive sources to cite.

    ★★حقائقMyths and facts

What UAE owners are told about deleting reviews, and what is true

“An agency can delete any Google review.”

Nobody outside Google can delete a review directly. Google removes reviews that break its policies, and courts can order removal in some cases. Anyone promising guaranteed deletion of any review is not being honest.

“If enough people report it, Google has to remove it.”

The number of reports does not decide the outcome. One well-evidenced report citing the right policy is worth more than dozens of vague ones.

“Replying makes a bad review more visible.”

A calm reply shows readers you care and often softens the impact of the review. Silence can look like indifference.

“Deleting my profile and starting again removes the reviews.”

Reviews are tied to the place, and trying to escape them can make matters worse. Fix the reviews you can and outweigh the rest.

“Buying a few five-star reviews will balance it out.”

Fake reviews break Google’s rules. Google can remove them, restrict new reviews and warn customers about suspicious activity, which is far more damaging than one bad review.

“I should threaten the reviewer with the cybercrime law.”

Public threats can backfire and may create legal risk for you. If a review is genuinely defamatory, let a UAE-licensed lawyer assess it.

    “Old reviews do not matter.”

Old negative reviews can still appear prominently, especially if they attracted many helpful votes. They are worth reviewing against policy too.

    “Only English reviews count.”

Google shows reviews in many languages, and it can translate them for readers. Arabic, Russian and Hindi reviews can influence customers just as much.

    ★★★أسئلةQuestions

Removing Google reviews in the UAE: top questions answered

What is the best Google review removal service in Dubai?

Look for a service that only uses Google’s official reporting routes, never asks for your password, explains which reviews have real grounds before starting and never promises guaranteed removal. That is how United Press works, with honest assessments and evidence-based reports.

What is the best way to remove a fake Google review?

Report it under the single Google policy it breaks most clearly, with evidence such as missing booking records or links to a competitor, reply calmly in public, and use your one appeal carefully if Google declines.

Can Google reviews be removed in the UAE?

Yes, if they break Google’s content policies. Fake reviews, conflicts of interest, harassment, hate speech, personal information, off-topic content and spam can all be reported. Genuine negative reviews usually stay.

How do I remove a negative Google review in Dubai?

Report it from your Google Business Profile or through Google’s Reviews Management Tool, choosing the policy it breaks. Support the report with evidence, track its status and use your one appeal if needed. If it stays, reply calmly and publicly.

How long does Google take to remove a review?

Google says evaluation typically takes several days. Escalated appeals can take longer. We track every report and tell you the status honestly.

Can I delete a Google review myself?

No. Business owners cannot delete reviews directly. Only the reviewer can delete their own review, and only Google can remove it for a policy breach.

What happens if Google rejects my report?

You can appeal once through the Reviews Management Tool. Use the appeal to present clearer evidence and a more precise policy argument rather than repeating the original report.

Can you guarantee a review will be removed?

No. Google decides every report, and nobody can honestly guarantee removal. We tell you at the start which reviews have strong grounds and which are unlikely to come down.

How do I prove a review is fake?

Check your booking, sales and enquiry records for the date, look at the reviewer’s other reviews for patterns, and compare timing and wording with other suspicious reviews. Present these signals clearly without sharing customers’ personal data.

Can a competitor’s review be removed?

Yes. Google’s policies do not allow reviews written by competitors. The challenge is showing the connection, which is why patterns and evidence matter.

Can a former employee’s review be removed?

Reviews by current or former employees are a conflict of interest under Google’s policies and can be reported. Confirm the connection to Google in general terms without publishing their details.

    What is Google review extortion?

It is when someone threatens to post, or has posted, negative reviews unless you give them a refund, free service or another benefit. Google has a dedicated form for reporting it. Keep all messages as evidence.

Can reviews in Arabic be removed?

Yes. Google’s policies apply in every language. We translate reviews in Arabic and other languages before assessing them, because abusive content in another language is easy to miss.

    Does Google remove old reviews?

Age alone is not a reason for removal. An old review can still be removed if it breaks policy, and newer genuine reviews will push it further down over time.

Can a review that names my staff be removed?

Reviews that harass or share personal information about identifiable people can be reported. A review that simply mentions a staff member’s first name in a fair complaint usually stays.

Why did Google remove some of my positive reviews?

Google’s systems remove reviews they consider suspicious, such as those from new accounts, repeated wording or incentivised requests. This is one reason never to buy or reward reviews.

Should I reply to a fake review?

Usually yes, briefly. A polite reply saying you cannot find a matching visit helps readers while your report is assessed. Never accuse the reviewer of a crime in public.

Is posting a fake review a crime in the UAE?

Under UAE law, including Federal Decree-Law No. 34 of 2021, insulting or defaming someone online can be a criminal offence. Whether a particular review crosses that line is a question for a UAE-licensed lawyer.

Can I take legal action against a Google reviewer in the UAE?

If a review is genuinely defamatory, you may be able to file a complaint through the police or Public Prosecution, generally within three months of learning of it and who wrote it. A lawyer should assess the case first.

Can I report a defamatory review to Dubai Police?

Dubai Police accepts cybercrime complaints through its eCrime service, and Abu Dhabi Police through its Aman service. A lawyer can advise whether your review qualifies and how to present it.

Will Google remove a review with a UAE court order?

Google has a separate legal removal process and considers requests supported by court orders. Your lawyer can advise whether a legal request is appropriate in your case.

Can I get into trouble for my reply to a review?

A calm, factual reply is normally fine. Replies that insult the reviewer, accuse them of a crime or reveal their personal information can create legal and platform problems for you.

Can I offer a discount in exchange for a review?

No. Google does not allow incentives for reviews, including discounts, gifts or free services. It can remove incentivised reviews and restrict your profile.

How do I get more genuine Google reviews in the UAE?

Ask every customer consistently, share your review link on receipts, QR codes, emails and WhatsApp follow-ups, and reply to reviews regularly. Never filter requests to happy customers only.

How many good reviews does it take to recover from a bad one?

There is no fixed number. What matters most is a steady flow of recent, genuine reviews and thoughtful replies, which together show readers what your business is like today.

Do bad Google reviews affect my ranking on Google Maps?

Google says local ranking is based on relevance, distance and prominence, and that review count and score are part of prominence. A healthy flow of positive reviews supports how visible you are.

Do you need access to my Google account?

No. We never ask for your password. We prepare the reports, evidence and replies, and you or your team submit them from your own Business Profile, or add us as a manager if you prefer.

Do you work with businesses outside the UAE?

Yes. We are based in London and work with businesses in every country, including international brands with UAE branches and UAE businesses expanding abroad.

Can you help with Trustpilot, Glassdoor and other review sites?

Yes. Each platform has its own rules. See our guides to Trustpilot and Glassdoor, or ask us about any other site.

Do bad reviews affect what AI assistants say about my business?

They can. AI assistants draw on review platforms and other sources when describing businesses. Accurate information on authoritative sites, including respected media, helps give them a fairer picture.

    Why choose United Press?

We only use policy-based reports and honest replies, never fake reviews or threats. We understand UAE law, handle reviews in many languages and can strengthen your search results with placements in respected UAE and international publications.

    How do I get started?

Fill in the short form below with your Business Profile link and the reviews that worry you. We will send an honest, free assessment of which reviews have grounds for removal. Nothing is booked until you approve it.

Your rating should tell your story, not someone else’s

Think about the customers who came back every week, the team who stayed late on a busy Thursday night and the first review that made you proud. That is the real story of your business, and it deserves to be the one people see first.

One unfair review should not get to decide whether a family books your restaurant, a patient chooses your clinic or a tenant calls your agency. You have worked too hard for that.

Imagine opening your Business Profile tomorrow and seeing a rating you are proud to share.

Send us your profile link on the short form. Within 24 hours you will receive an honest, free assessment of which reviews can be removed, which should be answered and how to rebuild your rating. Nothing is booked until you say yes.
