Online Safety Commission (from 29 June 2026)Under the Online Safety (Relief and Accountability) Act 2025, the new Online Safety Commission handles online harassment, doxxing, online stalking and intimate image abuse. It can direct platforms to take content down and, in some cases, to share who posted it. More types of harm will be added in stages.
Doxxing and harassment of staffReviews that publish a staff member’s personal details, or that are part of a harassment campaign, may now be reported to the Commission as well as to Google.
Protection from Harassment Act and defamationSingapore law also gives remedies against false statements of fact and defamation, through the courts. These are slower, so we use them only when Google’s own policies are not enough.
Fake reviewsBuying or writing fake reviews can be an unfair practice under Singapore’s consumer protection law. Never buy positive reviews to bury bad ones.
